35 lb. Chinook starts the season
MV Salmon Seeker - June 2, 2007Our first group of gusts arrived yesterday, so today is technically our first full fishing day. The weather is great — calm wind and smooth seas. Other than an abundant amount of fish, our guests were treated to dolphins swimming around their boats! The catch for the day was as follows:
34 Chinook, the largest was 35 lbs. caught by Don Bonar plus a bevy of halibut, the largest was 68 lbs. caught by Stuart Clark of the UK. It was a very impressive day on the smooth waters of Kano Inlet.
Some trivia for the reader: why are weather forecasters called “meteorologists?”
Meteorology became the science of forecasting weather during the fourth century B.C., when it was believed that dramatic heavenly events were the cause of everything, especially weather — and there was nothing more dramatic than the arrival of a meteor. Studying meteors to predict weather ended in the late 17th century, but weather forecasters are still known as meteorologists.
