Reel Reports
38 pounder
MV Salmon Seeker - August 17, 2006Today the seas were calm and lots of good fishing was happening at a dozen spots in the Kano Inlet and Cone Head areas. Winds were down and we even saw a little sunshine today (for the second day in a row!). There was a good tide running and those who worked it reaped the rewards.
In fact, the largest Chinook of this trip, weighing in at 38 pounds, was caught today by Clayton Tipping of Grand Junction, Colorado. Will the record hold tomorrow? For those willing to hit the water for a few hours before leaving, there is always the possibility of a big one to finish off the trip.
The ridge of high pressure that has dominated the weather here for quite a while is sticking around so winds are between southwesterly and northwesterly between 10 and 15 knots most days so we expect to go on fishing hard.
