Can't Keep Lines in the Water

MV Salmon Seeker - June 29, 2011

Yesterday was another of those days where it was impossible to keep the lines in the water any longer than 10 minutes without a strike...and sometimes double headers. Just non stop action. We welcomed another ten inductees into the Captain’s Club yesterday, with halibut over 50lbs. and Chinook over 30. The leader in the halibut category was Mark Smerge with a 91 pounder and Michael Hamilton’s 36 pound Chinook is now the leader for the trip trophy.

Many nice sized Coho are now showing up and last trip’s fifteen pounder represents the largest we can remember for this early in the season. Possibly an indicator of a few hitting the twenty pound mark in August. A little rainy and windy today, but since most guests are getting close to their limits, this shouldn’t dampen the enthusiasm.

Here are photos of the season's biggest fish so far...Lindsey Wilson's 48 lb. Chinook and Ryan and Joe Berger's 290 lb. hali.
