Day 1... masterfisherman!

MV Salmon Seeker - August 15, 2006

Halibut fishing in BCThis ridge of high pressure is just sitting here, protecting us from any form of “depression,” meteorological or otherwise! The sun has been shining all day, the sea is blue and the fishing is great.

It is only the first full day for the present group of guests but we have a Masterfisherman already. Jim Warn of Aurora, Oregon landed a 114 pound halibut today. He holds the trip record (so far) for salmon, with a nice Tyee of 35 pounds. A true Masterfisherman. But you can feel the others raring to take over the lead spot by tomorrow night!

Lots of Chinook, Coho and Ling cod were caught today, plus a lone sockeye for those looking for variety. Today's adventures finished off beautifully for our guests as they watched the sun catch the tops of the peaks around Kano Inlet with the promise of another great day tomorrow.
