Double Tyees for first-time angler!

MV Salmon Seeker - August 8, 2006

It has been a great day here with a mix of sun and cloud, not much wind and lots of fish.

One of our younger guests got his first fish last night — a Tyee! — and beat out his father in doing so. Today? Another Tyee for Michael Stuart Jr and Dad something smaller! He sure knows how to raise a fisherman!

All the buzz around the resort, in addition to young is Michael, is the 140 lb halibut brought in by David Kremser of Colorado. He's now Masterfisherman twice-over!

The catch board shows lots of Chinook as well as a good number of Coho in the 10 to 20 pound range. Weather looks good for tomorrow and, with a ridge building in over the Queen Charlottes, things will be nice for a while.
