MV Salmon Seeker - August 13, 2006
A high pressure ridge has settled in over the Queen Charlottes, stabilizing the weather, and given us easy seas and moderate winds from the west and northwest.
Today everyone was busy out on the water. Veteran angler Clara Williams of Lincoln City, Oregon got her second Master Fisherman cap with a 22 pound Coho. Not to be outdone, Theresia Baer now holds the trip record for bringing in her second Tyee salmon, this one weighing 43 pounds. Nice work, ladies!
The boats are coming in with both fish lockers full, and the catches are spread pretty evenly among Chinook, Coho and halibut. Biggest halibut so far is a 47 pounder caught by Aldo Tomasetti of Calgary, but we will see what tomorrow brings.
