Fishing Update
MV Salmon Seeker - July 17, 2006
This was another perfect day in a perfect area. Kano Inlet is known for its scenery and as the best fishing grounds in the world. This can be proven by guests coming from Europe, Australia and New Zealand, right to the South Terminal and on to Kano Inlet, twice this season.
Even though yesterday was a changeover day, it's been a habit on recent trips that one group catches a trophy fish. This morning, as the last couple of boats were returning, one radioed to prepare the crane. The cameras got ready for a 101 lb. halibut caught by Mike Schleppe of BC. The largest salmon of the trip, a 40 lb. beauty caught by Nevada native Jim Ebel.
The next group started things off right with over 20 Chinook in a couple of hours, the largest a 36 lb. King salmon caught by Charles Rowland. Congratulations!
