Just another day at the Seeker...

MV Salmon Seeker - July 18, 2007

I guess if say I again anything about the weather I would be bragging. The sea was flat calm as a mirror and wind speed was zero knots. It is just like a large pond out there outside Kano Inlet. To add to this beauty, two killer whales and a sea lion were swimming close to our boats and gave a nice performance in front our guests. I take it for granted that we have some eagles flying every day and they prepare for their evening meal as our guides clean the fish and throw away the guts. Ana lot of dog fish also feed there too and it is a common sight to see our guest filming all these activities and then compare notes at the dinner table.

Before lunch half the boats came back with their limits and went out again for catch and release. The other half were more choosy and they would not keep anything under a certain weight in the boat.

The catch for the day was as follows: 39 Chinook, the largest was a 42 lbs. caught by Bob Wright of Oregon, his guide was Steve Cote and another one caught by Mick Bush of Washington, his guide was Shawn Counts, 28 Halibut, and the largest was 122 lbs. caught by Dave Collins of BC and he was awarded a Master Fisherman’s status and a MF hat, his guide was Derek Resch , 10 Lingcod and 23 Coho and 12 Rock fish.
