Kano Inlet Derby Update

June 17 to 21 saw 26 eager anglers head to the MV Salmon Seeker for the 5th annual Kano Inlet Derby. Beautiful weather and calm waters greeted these guests as they enjoyed a great trip with most limiting out on salmon and halibut. Congratulations to long time Oak Bay Marine Group guest Jeff Larmore of Lynwood Washington who boated the derby winner at 36.5 lbs. (a 42 lb. Chinook also caught was ineligible). Roger McDonald of Renton Washington caught the trip's largest halibut at 83 lbs.

As for this week at the MV Salmon Seeker, the fishing continues to be awesome with the plenty of action on Chinooks in the 30's and Cohos in the 8-12 lb. range. Guests are limiting out on both species - even with the recent increase in Coho limits.
