Fishing has picked up lately and several fine fish have been brought in including the new season leading Chinook at 49 pounds caught at Kindakun Point by Peter Browne. While this was one pound short of Masterfisherman status, Peter rectified this by landing a 143 pound halibut the next day.
Tom Carlson’s 106 pound halibut also earned him the coveted MF cap. Four tyees and another two large halibut earned Captain’s Club pins for Tom Carlson (again), Robert and Jeff Howard, Robert Penkala and Brad Haysom. Everyone is out beating the waters again this morning looking for that fifty pounder but I expect Mr. Browne will earn the trip trophy.
Things are looking good for Trip # 7 with settled weather and improving fishing.
