Queen Charlotte Islands Fishing Report
MV Salmon Seeker - June 25, 2006It was one of those Queen Charlotte Islands days when everyone went out all prepared for the winds and rain that can challenge fishers in these waters. But just like fishing a surprise was waiting and the sun came out, the winds were moderate and the fishing was hot at Cone Head ! Double the number of fish came in today compared to yesterday as the guests got fully into the swing of fishing this area.
The record so far for this trip’s salmon was set yesterday for a 38 pound Chinook by Steve Fitzmaurice of Ontario. A close second is Korey Roberts with a very handsome 37 pounder.
Happily for us, a ridge of high pressure seems to like our neighbourhood and promises to stay around for a while. This will mean light to moderate Northwest breezes and plenty of places to fish in safety.
