Queen Charlottes Fishing Report

MV Salmon Seeker - August 6, 2006

BC fishing lodgeThe high pressure ridge lying over the Queen Charlottes has been kind to us today and kept the breezes down and the seas low. As a result, fishing was busy and successful all the way out of the inlet. The difficulty is to deciding who had the biggest thrill: Rene Gaudet of Coquitlam getting a 101 lb halibut and earning Masterfisherman designation, or his fishing partner Darrell Huwyler catching a 96 pounder the first time he ever fished for halibut!

We are getting lots of Chinook and Coho and those lovely sockeye are starting to show up more and more. The weather may not be the high temperatures of the south, but the sun still shines on mountains and sunscreen is still in order.

True fishing bliss…
