The Perfect Day

MV Salmon Seeker - July 10, 2006

Masterfisherman in the making! It was one of those days that the weather was just perfect. Our guests took the opportunity and every boat went out and most of our guest had there quota of salmon and halibut.

As it was such a great morning, they released their catch or added a fish or two to make their limits. For the short time they were out on the water, they caught 20 Chinook and a Coho. Upon their return to the ship, we had the clock presentation for the largest salmon of the trip to seven year-old Nicholas Trembley for his 44 lb. Chinook caught on July 7, 2006.

After the changeover, our second group of guests headed to the famous fishing grounds of Kano Inlet. Fishing was going steadily as guides took their guests to all their favourite spots to make sure of getting just the right fish.

Masterfisherman in the making! One of the boats radioed indicating that he has a large Chinook and asked to prepare a “Masterfisherman’s hat”, which is awarded to those who catch a Chinook of 50 lbs. or more. Everybody huddled around the weighing station to watch Mano Khorasandian of West Vancouver weigh-in his beautiful fish. The fish weighed in at exactly 50 lbs.
