Our guests from the recent trip enjoyed an abundance of good weather, good fishing and good companionship on our Northern Resort, the MV Salmon Seeker.
Masterfisherman honors for hauling in halibut in excess of 100 lbs. went to Orvil Anthony 106 lb., Wayne Porterfield 129 lb., and David Kimble for his 134 lb. halibut. They received the coveted hat, pin and bottle of champagne and a plaque will be mounted in the guest lounge.
New Captains’ Club members for catching Coho 15 lbs. or more were Bernard Kadonoff 15 lb. & 16 lb., David Kimble and Lorne Spate 15 lb., Peter Farrant 16 lb. and Samuel Carroll Sr. with a 17 lb. Coho.
Captains’ Club for landing halibut over 50 lbs. went to Laura Banister 53 lb., Barry Olson 54 lb., David Pitzer 72 lb. and James Muhl with back to back 80 lb. halibut.
Captains’ Club for catching salmon 30 lbs. and over went to Lorne Spate and Laura Banister 30 lb., Donald Kadonoff and (again) Laura Banister 31 lb., Donald Spate 35 lb. and the winner of the Oak Bay Clock Award was Lorne Spate with his 40 lb. Chinook.
All in all this group had an enjoyable fishing experience aboard the MV Salmon Seeker in Kano Inlet.
