Reel Reports
West Coast summer
MV Salmon Seeker - June 20, 2007
Today we had a great weather report so our boats were able to get out of Kano Inlet for the first time in a few days.
The best salmon fishing, however, is being experienced inside the inlet and our guests have been playing catch and release for the last two days with mid-twenty-pound size Chinook while they search for the Tyee-size keepers.
Heavy rain showers haven't dampened their enthusiasm for this kind of fishing which probably doesn't exist anywhere else on the planet. Not much bottom fishing has been going on due to the weather but the usual assortment of “chicken” halbut are coming in with 60 lbs. being today's largest. No let up in the rain is forecast, but winds should be south east 25knots or less for the next couple of days. Typical West Coast summer!
